Estrogen is a key hormone for maintaining bone density. Throughout life, estrogen inhibits bone resorption. When
estrogen levels drop during menopause, bone loss can accelerate rapidly. This puts postmenopausal women at
risk for osteoporosis—a degenerative bone disorder, characterized by the weakening of the bone, and a general
